However, a significant portion of these holdings is currently inaccessible due to lost passwords and private keys.
Arkham, on April 15, updated its dashboard to reveal the holdings of some of the world’s wealthiest crypto holders and whales, including prominent figures like Tron’s Justin Sun and Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin.
According to the data, the top five crypto holders listed on the dashboard possess a total of $3.47 billion in digital assets. Nevertheless, approximately 35% of this amount, equivalent to $1.21 billion, is labeled as inaccessible.
Arkham’s Top Five Crypto Whales
Justin Sun, the founder of the Tron network, leads the pack with a reported $1.06 billion in his crypto wallet. His holdings consist mainly of his own stablecoin, Decentralized USD (USDD), valued at $275 million, followed by Tron’s native token, TRX, of which he holds $237 million worth.
Rain Lõhmus, the founder of Estonia-based LHV Bank, holds the second position on Arkham’s list with $769 million worth of Ether. However, it’s been flagged as inaccessible since it was reported in November that he lost access to his private key.
Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, ranks third with a wallet containing $757 million, primarily in ETH, of which he holds 245,425 tokens.
The Bitcoin wallet of Stefan Thomas, the former chief technology officer at Ripple, appears fourth on the list. However, his $442 million worth of Bitcoin has also been flagged as inaccessible.
Thomas lost access to over 7,000 Bitcoin in 2011 after misplacing the password to the encrypted hard drive containing his cryptocurrency details.
In October, the crypto recovery firm Unciphered offered to unlock the IronKey hard drive.
