Crypto News – The DFINITY Foundation has revealed its strategic move to catalyze the growth of blockchain and AI initiatives based in Asia by launching the ICP Asia Alliance and a substantial $20 million grant fund.

This strategic initiative emphasizes Asia’s crucial role in the global web3 ecosystem and underscores ICP’s dedication to nurturing growth within the region.

Asia Demonstrates Strong Potential for Web3 Adoption

The DFINITY Foundation, a non-profit research and development organization, significantly contributes to the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) web3 blockchain. The recently established ICP Asia Alliance aims to take the lead in the dynamic web3 and AI ecosystem in Asia, focusing primarily on driving the adoption of the Internet Computer blockchain.

Overall, the Alliance’s objective is to bring together a diverse range of stakeholders, including government organizations, tech entrepreneurs, investors, universities, developers, and community members. Through this collaboration, the aim is to create a robust platform for cooperation, education, and innovation.

Dominic Williams, Founder and Chief Scientist of the DFINITY Foundation, emphasized Asia’s importance in web3, stating, “Asia has emerged as a pivotal region for the Internet Computer and the broader web3 ecosystem. Much of the early support and adoption for ICP and DFINITY originated from Asia, where some of the most talented ICP developers are based.”

These hubs are set to play a crucial role in cultivating a thriving ICP community while also working to raise awareness and facilitate strategic partnerships and project acceleration.

Developments in the Western Hemisphere

Meanwhile, in the Western hemisphere, billionaire investor Tim Draper, in collaboration with Alon Goren and David Bleznak, has initiated the Draper Goren Blockchain (DGB) project. This venture studio aims to accelerate startups in the web3, crypto, and blockchain sectors, even in the face of challenging market conditions.

Draper, a prominent Bitcoin advocate and an early investor in companies such as Coinbase and Tesla, expressed his vision for DGB, stating,

The DGB team also plans to engage with web3 firms over the next decade, intending to invest between $25,000 and $100,000 in pre-seed startups.

This initiative, combined with DFINITY’s concentrated efforts in Asia, signifies a global endeavor to drive the widespread adoption of blockchain technology.
