zkSync DEX Merlin Reportedly Hacked for $1.82 Million Immediately After Code Audit
Merlin, a decentralized exchange that uses zkSync technology, was hacked for more than $1.82 million shortly after receiving a code audit from Certik, a smart-contract auditor.
Certik is investigating the incident and initial findings suggest a potential issue with private key management, rather than a code exploit. Meanwhile, eZKalibur, another decentralized exchange using zkSync, has identified the malicious code responsible for draining the funds and has questioned the quality of Certik‘s audit.
Some experts believe that the risk of a rug pull should have been highlighted in the audit report. Merlin developers have advised users to revoke wallet permissions connected to its website and are analyzing the exploit.
