The Player of the Month Program: Engaging Fans for a Cause
In collaboration with S.S. Lazio, Binance Charity and Binance Fan Token have launched the “Player of the Month” (POTM) program. This initiative allows Binance users to participate in meaningful initiatives while supporting their favorite football stars.
The program, which was launched last year, enables fans to engage with their favorite players and contribute to a generous $100,000 donation to support the chosen cause.
How the Player of the Month Program Works
Every month, Binance users are invited to vote for their favorite players on a per-match basis. The players who win will be awarded Binance Fan Tokens, which are utility tokens that enhance fan experiences.
At the end of the season, the player with the most POTM titles will donate their entire winnings ($65,000) to their chosen charity. The runner-up will also donate their winnings ($35,000). This initiative allows Binance users to actively contribute to philanthropic efforts, shaping the future of charitable initiatives and making a positive impact on lives.
The Impact of the Player of the Month Program
The POTM program supports a wide range of causes, from education and healthcare to environmental conservation and social justice. The first winner of the POTM program, Ciro Immobile, chose to donate his winnings to Binance Charity‘s Tree Millions initiative, which combats deforestation. Runner-up Felipe Anderson donated his winnings to Binance Charity‘s Earthquake Appeal, which provides resources for earthquake relief in Turkey and Syria.
About the Football Jersey Auctions for Hunger Relief
S.S. Lazio players are also contributing to the cause by auctioning off their football jerseys to raise funds for Binance Charity‘s Fight Hunger Worldwide project. This initiative aims to support the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal of eradicating hunger by 2030. The proceeds from the jersey fundraiser will be used to launch a food drive for underprivileged communities in Italy this summer.
