Official Sources Confirm OpenSea’s Support for Base Network’s Layer 2.
Base Network Joins OpenSea’s Supported Platforms
OpenSea, the leading NFT marketplace, has officially announced its integration with Coinbase‘s Base Network, a layer 2 solution. This means that NFT artworks minted on Base’s network can now be bought and sold on OpenSea, providing new opportunities for artists and creators to showcase their assets on a prominent platform. OpenSea’s robust NFT-related toolkit will also extend its capabilities to mint assets on Base’s network, further enriching the NFT ecosystem.
Despite facing competition from other platforms, OpenSea has maintained its status as a primary player in the NFT industry, with a strong history of driving organic NFT transaction volume. The upcoming launch of Base’s common access mainnet on August 9 holds great promise, with more than 50 top brands, platforms, markets, artists, and creators set to be part of the network, including renowned names like Coca-Cola, Atari, and OpenSea.
While Base Network experienced a surge in activity during the memecoin transaction boom, recent challenges, including incidents related to its top memecoin BALD, have caused a decline in activity. Nonetheless, the network continues to evolve and attract users, with LeetSwap being one of its most popular DEXs.
The integration of Base Network with OpenSea brings exciting prospects for the NFT community and opens up new avenues for artistic expression and trading opportunities. With both platforms coming together, users can look forward to an enriched and dynamic NFT marketplace experience.
