Avalanche Core Team Implements Cortina Upgrade on Mainnet
Avalanche has implemented the Cortina upgrade on its mainnet to optimize its network for developers. This upgrade involved upgrading to the latest version of Avalanche Go v1.10.0 and migrating the X-Chain to run the Snowman++ consensus, which is crucial for integrating Avalanche Warp Messaging and enabling complex X-Chain transactions.
The C-Chain was also updated, with its block gas limit increased to 15 million gas to accommodate the deployment of more complex dApps on the network.
This upgrade comes at a time when the C-Chain is seeing increased activity, with daily transactions more than tripled year to date after a significant decline at the end of 2022
