Crypto News– In a recent announcement by Dogecoin on the X platform, Astrobotic, a renowned American Space Research and Robotics firm, is gearing up to launch a satellite carrying a physical Dogecoin to the moon. This news has stirred excitement in the meme coin community, drawing attention from market participants.
Astrobotic to Send Dogecoin to the Moon in December – Potential Rally for DOGE Price?
The highly anticipated launch, featuring Dogecoin, is scheduled for December 23 through DHL Moonbox, utilizing ULA’s Vulcan Centaur Rocket, as confirmed by an official tweet from Dogecoin’s X account.
Astrobotic, initially funded by the Dogecoin community in 2015, received a collection of “Physical Dogecoins.” As a reciprocal gesture, Astrobotic included Dogecoin in its 2021 moon mission, ensuring its safe landing on the lunar surface.
This claim caught the interest of the space technology firm, leading them to share a post in 2021 highlighting the discovery of Dogecoins during the integration of MoonBoxes with the Peregrine lunar lander. In a playful nod to SpaceX founder Elon Musk, Astrobotics hinted at the prospect of “Dogecoin going to the moon.”
The concept of sending a literal Dogecoin to space originated from Elon Musk’s fascination with DOGE meme coins. The DOGE-1 mission, announced in 2021, is still pending action. Delays in the Nova-C mission by SpaceX, the launch provider for Intuitive Machines, have subsequently affected the timeline for the DOGE-1 launch.
