According to Anatoly Aksakov, the head of the legislative Financial Market Committee, the State Duma, the lower house of the Russian parliament, intends to pass four laws pertaining to cryptocurrencies during its current session, which ends on July 30.
About the Four Laws
According to Interfax news agency, the laws are designed to control cryptocurrency mining, international crypto payments, taxation of digital assets, and liability for their unauthorized use. He stressed how carefully thought out the draft laws are.
Aksakov’s Statements
Large Russian corporations are already actively employing cryptocurrencies in settlements for international commerce, according to Aksakov, but they require laws detailing the regulatory environment for such transactions. He said this when addressing the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum:
Now we have come to the point where four bills are in the stage of practical adoption … It is quite possible that we will adopt all the laws in the spring session.
