Aethir, a decentralized cloud infrastructure provider, has reported impressive revenue figures of $36 million over the past year, reflecting a steady 10% month-on-month growth. This surge is largely driven by the increasing demand for AI, cloud gaming, and edge computing power, which Aethir’s decentralized GPU network effectively supplies.

Claiming the title of the world’s sole enterprise-grade GPU-as-a-service decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN), Aethir offers highly scalable GPU computing services at costs up to 60% lower than those of competitors like Amazon Web Services. This is achieved by leveraging distributed infrastructure that utilizes existing GPUs with idle capacity.

Aethir sources its GPU capacity from tier 3 and tier 4 data centers, the highest tiers in the industry, known for their uptime reliability of 99.982%, according to a spokesperson. In a statement to Cointelegraph, Mark Rydon, Aethir’s co-founder and head of strategy, emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating, “This new milestone indicates the market’s need for more accessible computing resources and the ability for a decentralized, collective resource pool to deliver a more robust, flexible, and accessible infrastructure for GPU-intensive tasks.”

Aethir’s decentralized GPU power supports numerous projects. TensorOpera AI, for instance, utilized Aethir’s GPU resources to train a 750-million-parameter AI model over a span of 30 days. Additionally, Aethir has been integrated into game development and publishing platforms like Sequence, MetaGravity, and GameSwift.

The Aethir network also powers the APhone, an application on the Solana chain that upgrades outdated smartphones by providing access to modern services onchain for an annual fee of $20. The platform-agnostic APhone, designed similarly to Android, offers a range of Web3 and Web2 apps, including WhatsApp, Instagram, and ChatGPT, in its app store.

Aethir is expanding its onchain presence, having hosted 500,000 users on its testnet and secured backing from major players like Nvidia, Super Micro, HPE, and Foxconn through a $146-million node sale. The network officially launched on the Ethereum mainnet on June 12.

The native ATH token operates on Ethereum for staking, while payments and community rewards are handled on the Ethereum layer-2 Arbitrum. The ATH token can also be staked on the Sophon ZK chain, which is entertainment-focused. With a total supply of 42 billion ATH tokens, each was valued at $0.0755 at the time of writing.
