Crypto News – According to data released by independent blockchain expert ZachXBT, at least 12 Solana presale meme coins that raised a total of $26.7 million from investors have been entirely abandoned in the last 30 days.
12 Solana Pre-sale Memecoin: Left to Their Fate 1 Month After Pre-Sale
12 Solana memecoin projects that raised funds through the contentious presale approach were highlighted by ZachXBT in a post on April 21 on X. Many of these projects have seen large declines in value since their inception, and one appears to have never launched a token at all. ZachXBT claims that the “I like this coin” memecoin, which had the ticker LIKE, was the most expensive abandoned presale project.
The project’s anonymous creator, pokeee.eth, raised an incredible 52,220 SOL tokens ($7.7 million at today’s exchange rate) for the memecoin. On March 17, the coin was launched with a $577 million market capitalization; however, its value crashed, falling more than 90% in the first eight hours. Since March 31, there has been no new post from the memecoin official X account and pokeee.eth has also stopped mentioning the coin.
Solana’s Pre-Sale Scandal
One of the more prominent Solana presale fiascos in recent memory occurred in March, when the creator of the memecoin Slerf stated that a “fat finger” burn fault had unintentionally burned the whole presale allocation of SLERF. The coin swiftly gained cult status among memecoin investors, who embraced the token and watched it soar to a market value peak of over $750 million, even though the Slerf developer burned an astounding 535,000 SOL.
