Credibly Neutral, a new crypto venture capital firm, has raised $5.5 million from a collection of investors that includes the co-founders of the Solana and Polygon, co-founder of Ethereum and founder of ConsenSys.

Credibly Neutral, a recently established venture capital firm focused on crypto, has secured $5.5 million in funding from several investors, including the founders of Solana and Polygon blockchains, and Joe Lubin’s investment firm, Ethereal Ventures.

The company, based in Brooklyn, New York, is spearheaded by Viktor Bunin, who heads up Coinbase Cloud’s protocol operations team, and Lisa Cuesta Bunin, Aztec Protocol’s COO.

Credibly Neutral’s investment strategy targets early-stage projects in the crypto space, including protocols, infrastructure, and SaaS projects, investing between $50,000 and $250,000.

The firm has expressed interest in decentralized finance protocols, layer 1 and 2 blockchains, developer tools, analytics tools, security software, and rails to facilitate the transfer of fiat currencies to and from crypto.

Lisa Cuesta Bunin emphasized the company’s commitment to investing in open access protocols, tools, and products that promote innovation, transparency, and a level playing field for all participants.

The round of funding included investors such as Surojit Chatterjee, the former CPO of Coinbase, Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, and Solana co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal, among others.

Lisa Cuesta Bunin is COO at Aztec Protocol, which is building a fully programmable encrypted zkRollup. She joined as the first business hire and has worn multiple hats while scaling the team from 9 to 45 employees globally and raising $120M in funding.

As COO, Lisa oversees commercialization, finance, operations, and people. She drove adoption of Aztec Connect through governance proposals and grant funding with partners including Compound, Lido, and Aave. She launched Aztec’s grants program and co-authored the Grants Program Playbook. She also spearheads the ZK Legal Working Group to coordinate legal and policy efforts across projects that are building on chain privacy and using zero knowledge technology.

Viktor Bunin leads the Protocol Operations team at Coinbase Cloud, the largest staking infrastructure provider. He is the industry’s first Protocol Specialist, a role he created as an early employee of Bison Trails (acq by Coinbase) that has now become an industry staple at orgs like a16z and Blockdaemon.

He helped 30+ protocols design incentivized testnets, governance, incentives, and network parameters, and launch their mainnets. Viktor drove the governance effort to launch NEAR’s mainnet, led the first decentralized protocol merger between Keep & NuCypher to create Threshold Network, and created the Flashbots Eth2 Working Group.
