Sony hopes that the program will help to find out how blockchain technology can solve various problems in their industry.
Sony Collaborates With Astar Network for Web3 Incubation Program
Sоny Network Communications, a business division of The Sony Group, has partnered with smart contract network Astar Network to launch a Web3 incubation program for promising projects that concentrate on the utility of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs).
According to the reports, the Web3 incubation program will be organized by Singapore-based Startale Labs, a company founded by Аstar Network CEO Sota Watanabe. This program will run from mid-March to mid-June of 2023. Applications for the program are open from February 17 till March 6.
Projects that are accepted into the program will be split into 10 to 15 cohorts, and learning sessions will be running by big global venture capital companies like Dragonfly, Fenbushi Capital and Alchemy Venture.
The Opportunity
The Web3 Incubation Program will be a good opportunity for Sоny Network Communications to explore how blockchain technology can solve various problems in their industry. Sony Network Communications also will consider various projects in the program for investment.
The Web3 Incubation program is a part of Аstar Network’s collaboration with other companies that are aiming to explore use cases for Web3 technology. Last month, Аstar Network – one of the first parachains to come to the Polkadot ecosystem – teamed up with automotive giant Toyota on a Web3 hackathon.
More broadly, Sоny has also started to embrace Web3 technology, announcing a motion-tracking metaverse wearable called Mocopi in November 2022.
