Ripple and DoraHacks have joined forces to organize an exciting online hackathon aimed at supporting and promoting innovative projects. This collaborative exercise intends to attract developers from diverse backgrounds, encouraging them to explore creative ideas and transition from centralized systems to blockchain technology.

Scheduled to take place from June 5 to July 30, 2023, the Summer XRPL online hackathon boasts a generous prize pool of $60,000. Participants have the opportunity to win up to $10,000 in funding to further develop their projects. Additionally, they will have the chance to engage with the Ripple team, receiving support and guidance beyond financial assistance.

DoraHacks, Ripple’s esteemed partner, actively encourages participants to explore various opportunities on its platform even after the hackathon concludes. They are urged to apply for other programs that can enhance the development of their projects and propel them towards success.

To foster collaboration and interaction among participants, DoraHacks has created a micro-community dedicated to the hackathon projects. This platform allows registered participants to engage with one another via the Ideas Board section, which serves as a hub for sharing tips, exchanging ideas, forming teams, seeking advice, and receiving feedback.

The selection of XRPL (XRP Ledger) as the designated platform for this hackathon stems from its reputation for reliability. Furthermore, the low cost and carbon neutrality of XRPL make it an ideal blockchain solution for businesses.

DoraHacks acknowledges XRPL’s impressive track record and vibrant community, which influenced their preference for the platform. They highlight the active participation of various companies and organizations within the XRP community, all dedicated to contributing and proposing new features that enhance the capabilities of the Ledger.

The hackathon comprises three distinct categories: the Finance Track, Tokenization Track, and Hooks Track. Each category will have up to five winners, including first, second, and third place, along with two honorary mentions.

Projects that secure a spot among the winners will be rewarded with a specified amount of XRP tokens. Additionally, the top winners from each category will have the valuable opportunity to engage in a 30-minute virtual meeting with Ripple’s developer relations team (devRel) to discuss their winning projects in greater detail.

By bringing together innovative developers and leveraging the power of XRPL, Ripple and DoraHacks aim to foster creativity, collaboration, and the adoption of blockchain technology in the pursuit of groundbreaking solutions.
