Nike and video game developer EA Sports have announced a partnership that will allow Nike’s web3 commerce platform, Swoosh, to integrate exclusive virtual assets into upcoming EA Sports games.
Nike NFT Sneaker Collection is Now Available at EA Sports!
Nike said in a statement on June 1 that its virtual creations, which are NFTs, will be included in EA Sports games in the near future. Nike’s virtual items will appear in some video games, although those games’ names have not yet been made public. The Swoosh Twitter account tweeted about the partnership.
Millions of gamers worldwide play the top-rated video games in the EA Sports portfolio, including FIFA, Madden NFL, and NBA Live. Players will likely be able to customize Nike NFTs as wearing accessories to improve their in-game character avatars.
What is Swoosh?
Nike released its Swoosh NFT platform in November 2022, although the company’s first NFT collection wasn’t unveiled until early 2023.
Despite only being available to a small group of users, the platform published over 92,000 NFTs in its initial collection. In the first release, Our Force 1, digital shoe boxes were sold after an NFT airdrop to reveal digital sneakers inside.
