Moonbeam has announced that it has integrated a new protocol, Layer Zero, to strengthen the interoperability of Palkadot parachains.
About Integration
Moonbeam enables cross-chain communication of smart contracts through Layer Zero’s contracts protocol. In addition, this increases the possibility of creating multi-chain dApps. With Layer Zero’s connected contracts solution, developers and users can create dApps that can leverage the Ethereum, Polkadot, Avalanche, and Swimmer networks while facilitating cross-chain messaging. Layer Zero’s linked contracts protocol has been taken to the testing stage on the Moonbeam platform as a demo.
Intro to Layer Zero
Layer Zero is a cross-chain messaging protocol that securely configures cross-chain communication. Ultra-light nodes in the form of smart contracts communicate with oracle and a relayer. Developers can choose from many oracle markets, including chainlink, to design applications so that the oracle component requires agreement on multiple assets. Layer Zero’s smart contract example will only be about NonblockingLzApp. You can check out the image below to see how the smart contract works.
About Moonbeam
Moonbeam aims to facilitate the work of developers who want to connect to Palkadot by combining Ethereum compatibility with the power of Polkadot, including scalability, cross-chain integrations, and on-chain governance. The platform currently has more than 100 projects, integrations and collaborations.
About Layer Zero
Layer Zero is a multi-chain interoperability protocol that allows dApps to be created securely on multiple blockchains. It transmits messages with the structure of Ultra Light Nodes.
