Exciting Announcement: Google Cloud Oracle Integration on LayerZero for Enhanced Security
After more than a year of concerted effort, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the Google Cloud Oracle on LayerZero. The Google Cloud Oracle is a purpose-built verifier that is now available to all LayerZero applications and will be set as the default option starting September 19th.
This development signifies that, by default, every message transmitted within the LayerZero ecosystem will harness the secure infrastructure managed by one of the world’s most security-conscious organizations. In simpler terms, Google Cloud will automatically verify the authenticity of every message exchanged within LayerZero.
Think of the Google Cloud Oracle as the equivalent of HTTPS for cross-chain messaging. Just as HTTPS certificates validate the legitimacy of websites, the Google Cloud Oracle now extends its verification capabilities to encompass all LayerZero messages by default.
At LayerZero, we firmly believe in the importance of modular security. Therefore, you have the flexibility to combine the Google Cloud Oracle with other verification providers like PolyhedraZK, allowing you to tailor your security stack to precisely meet your application’s requirements.
For user applications eager to make an immediate switch to the Google Cloud Oracle, simply update the oracle address in your UA configuration to point to the Google Cloud Oracle.
