With the integration that has taken place, Shopify merchants can now design, Mint and Sell Avalanche NFTs.
About Shopify’s Avalanche Integration
Shopify recently announced its NFT integration with Avalanche. By expanding the NFT integration, the company has facilitated the NFT process for buyers and sellers with this development.
Based on the press release, retailers can now sell their NFTs with minimal technical knowledge using the Venly Shopify Merchant App. The NFTs created by Merchants (which can be converted into products automatically) will be able to be displayed and sold in their storefronts. Additionally, buyers will be able to purchase these products without having an existing crypto wallet. The company allows buyers to receive by e-mail linked to a newly created blockchain wallet instead of a crypto wallet.
John Nahas, Vice president of Business at Ava Labs, the developer of the Avalanche blockchain said; “The integration makes it easy to navigate Avalanche NFT sales from initial design all the way through final distribution.”
Shopify launched its first NFT integration in July of 2021. With the integration made in 2021, merchants were able to sell their NFTs directly in their own store instead of selling them on third-party marketplaces. In addition, the platform had released the National Basketball Association’s Chicago Bulls NFT collection.
Christina Lomazzo, the blockchain ecosystem lead at Shopify; “Demonstrates our commitment to supporting our growing blockchain ecosystem NFTs they sell directly through their storefronts as merchants, helping to grow and expand what’s possible Web3 further participation in the Commerce.”
Shopify joins the growing number of mainstream platforms that are adopting digital collectible products. Instagram and its parent company Meta Platforms (META) opened NFT mint and sale to a select group of digital creators in November. Additionally, Reddit successfully launched the NFT marketplace in December.
