Crypto News– In a recent Twitter post on August 13th, Brian Armstrong, the CEO of Coinbase, expressed that the increased on-chain activities on their new layer-2 network Base have highlighted significant shortcomings in the Coinbase app’s user experience. During the “Onchain Summerevent, a multi-week festival showcasing product launches, brand activations, and NFT reveals on Base, which commenced on August 9th and will continue until August 31st, various issues have been brought to the forefront. Armstrong emphasized that the Coinbase app’s weaknesses have been exposed to non-fungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized apps, and layer 2s.

Armstrong urged X users (presumably referring to Twitter users) to provide feedback in response to his thread. He aims to prioritize addressing the most critical concerns and announced that significant updates will be rolled out in the upcoming two weeks.

One of the most popular responses, as of the time of this publication, came from Racer, a developer at Friendtech, who requested a swift settlement credit card on-ramp to Coinbase without the need for a separate account.

Another user requested a fix for an ongoing bug that causes problems when connecting Coinbase’s mobile wallet to Google Chrome. Armstrong noted that the persistence of this bug has been unexpectedly high. User experience (UX) has long been a challenge in the cryptocurrency industry.

In an interview with Cointelegraph, an anonymous Web3 UI/UX designer, known as 0xDesigner, attributed many of these UX issues to the nature of blockchain-based applications, which are often owner-centric and irreversible.
