Celsius Transfer: Company Transfers $125 Million ETH to Centralized Exchanges

In an attempt to start paying back creditors, the cryptocurrency lender Celsius transferred more than $125 million worth of its Ether to cryptocurrency exchanges during the last week.

Crypto News – According to data from Arkham Intelligence, Celsius sent $95.5 million to Coinbase between January 8 and January 12, while $29.7 million went to FalconX.

Nevertheless, Celsius’s holdings still exceed 550,000 ETH. Celsius decided to unstake a massive 206,300 ETH on January 5, stating that the newly liberated ETH would be utilized to cover restructuring-related expenses and to get ready to repay creditors.

Celsius Creditors Await Payment for 18 Months

Celsius has disclosed that it will disburse Bitcoin and Ethereum to creditors as part of its recovery strategy, but it has not yet said when exactly creditors will start receiving money. Since the company’s initial bankruptcy declaration in July 2022, creditors of Celsius have been waiting more than 18 months to retrieve money that has become locked on the platform.
