The Cardano developers tweeted on Thursday that the tool, a scaling mechanism to speed up transactions on the blockchain even further, is now operational on the mainnet.

About the Tool

The tool is the first of a future line of goods. Each tool functions as a “mini ledger” off-chain that is shared by a small number of users, greatly reducing fees and accelerating transaction times. According to the technical documentation, developers can build sophisticated, customized decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols on top of Cardano using the tool.
