Crypto News– Charles Hoskinson, one of the co-founders of the Cardano network, has taken steps to address concerns and misconceptions surrounding the Hydra project. In a recent video recording released on Wednesday, this prominent figure in the crypto space made a sincere effort to bring clarity and transparency to the forefront, while also dispelling any allegations of dishonesty related to Hydra’s throughput capabilities. Hydra, a protocol that officially launched on the Cardano mainnet in May, was designed to bolster Cardano’s scalability through a distinctive approach to transaction processing.
Cardano Founder Sets the Record Straight on Hydra Scaling Misinformation
In an effort to counter the myths suggesting that Cardano struggles with transaction speed, Hoskinson presented a TPS (transactions per second) chart indicating a rate of approximately 1,000 TPS. His intention was to emphasize Cardano’s impressive throughput capacity. Nevertheless, he made it clear that this TPS metric alone did not fully encapsulate Cardano’s potential. He explained that Hydra’s purpose had evolved over time.
According to Hoskinson, the project now places a greater emphasis on developing middleware that enables developers to craft sophisticated applications on the Cardano platform. This shift aligns with Cardano’s overarching vision to support a wide array of off-chain and on-chain applications, including NFT releases, decentralized exchange transactions, and intricate smart contracts.
Hoskinson also drew attention to Cardano’s extended UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) model, which allows for more intricate transactions with multiple components. This feature sets Cardano apart as a unique system when compared to other blockchain platforms.
Addressing Misinformation
Additionally, Hoskinson took a moment to address concerns about recent misinformation and skepticism surrounding Cardano. He urged the Cardano community to remain vigilant and fact-check claims about the project.
Every time a lie is said, it takes 10 times as much effort to undo that in people’s memory. So, when people run around and say Hydra has failed, we lied about Hydra, there’s no way to achieve any of these performance claims… then what they’re really doing is they’re taking the hard work of dozens of people and everybody building on it… it’s not okay and it’s not fair and it has to stop.
