In a shared email seen by Cointelegraph, the partnership disclosed that their initial game bridge to Ronin would be Zoids Wild Arena, inspired by the acclaimed anime series created by Japan’s renowned toy manufacturer, Tomy. This anime series was first introduced in 1983 as a line of plastic model figures. Additional franchises scheduled for migration to Ronin include Hello Kitty, Aggretsuko, and Bubble Bobble.

Trung Nguyen, CEO and co-founder of Sky Mavis, expressed his enthusiasm for this development, stating, “Act Games excels at expanding iconic IPs, transcending demographics, and enhancing player engagement. This alliance will allow us to combine our web3 knowledge and expertise with beloved IP, supported by an existing fanbase.” As part of the initial incentives, users who migrate to a Ronin wallet to play the game can expect to receive Zoids NFTs and a token drop.

Act Games has had a successful track record, having developed four arcade-style games since 2019, resulting in net sales of $6.4 million and garnering 3 million downloads.

Sky Mavis’ Axie Infinity has been nothing short of a phenomenon since its inception, with $4.2 billion in NFT sales volume, millions of daily active users during its peak, and revenue amounting to $1.3 billion. Their gaming blockchain, Ronin, powered by the Ethereum Virtual Machine, ranks second only to Ethereum itself in terms of NFT sales transactions. The company has a base in Vietnam and Singapore and has received significant funding from prominent investors such as Andreessen Horowitz, Paradigm, Libertus, Mark Cuban, and Binance.
