Astar Network and Shibuya Announce Collaboration

This partnership between Astar and Shibuya is actually very unusual. This is because Astar is a Japanese blockchain, and Shibuya is one of Tokyo’s most vibrant neighborhoods. Nevertheless, the two found a middle ground and cooperated. The successful blockchain will support the city’s startups. It will also be responsible for organizing various events, such as web3-focused hackathons and training workshops.

About Shibuya

With Shibuya’s strategic location, the area is of great importance to Tokyo. In addition to being one of the most significant fashion districts in Japan, it has two of the busiest train stations in the world, and many important companies, especially Google, have their offices in the area. In addition, the web3 technology company founded by Sota Watanabe, CEO of the Astar Foundation, will also be headquartered in this area.

“Shibuya is the largest city for young people in Japan and the city of startups. It’s known as Japan’s Silicon Valley, or “Bit Valley,” derived from a place in Shibuya(渋谷), combining Bitter (渋) and Valley (谷). We’re honored to have opened our office in this tech hub and to have signed a basic agreement with the city to utilize web3.”

Therefore, it is removing obstacles to access for the general public and opening up new avenues for developers and corporate executives to participate in this growing market.
