Anatoly Yakovenko Disagrees with Jack Dorsey and Michael Saylor’s Request for Coinbase to Support Bitcoin Lightning
Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase, exhorts the cryptocurrency community to concentrate on enabling quick and cost-free crypto payments everywhere. Bitcoin maximalists responded, requesting Coinbase to integrate the Bitcoin Lightning Network on the exchange, including Block co-founder Jack Dorsey, MicroStrategy executive chairman Michael Saylor, and others. Anatoly Yakovenko, a co-founder of Solana, contends that Solana is a speedier and more affordable payment option than Lightning Network.

Brian Armstrong stated on July 27 that the next stage for cryptocurrency is to make crypto payments rapid and free throughout the world. He makes a hint that they are transacting with USTC stablecoins.
Today, crypto has the *potential* to improve global payments infrastructure, but it hasn’t yet delivered on that promise as we’re largely still stuck on layer 1. Payments are like water, they flow to the path of least resistance.

With an average confirmation time of just 1.3 seconds, Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko claims that USDC on Solana is less expensive than Bitcoin Lightning Network. The Solana community endorsed Yakovenko’s claims on Solana Pay as well.
