About Undeads Metaverse
Undeads Metaverse is a metaverse project co-developed by Unicsoft and Whimsy Games. The development team is made up of people with degrees from Stanford and MIT and extensive experience working for companies such as PayPal, GameLoft, and Animoca Brands.
The game is set in a virtual world with a zombie outbreak, where users search for in-game items such as food, shelter, tools, and weapons to survive. As you explore the Undeads Metaverse universe, you realize that the game is not just about that. Because the zombies in the game are everywhere, constantly multiplying, and the scariest thing is that zombies have weapons too!
Building a Player Audience
One of the most significant things in games is the in-game economy system. This factor is doubly vital in blockchain-based games. The Undeads Metaverse team is making moves to improve the game ecosystem, but you, the players, will decide to adopt the game ecosystem. Undeads chief marketing officer Ash Hodgetts said:
“After the game is live, we’ll keep monitoring the flows and adjusting some settings to improve economy balance if and when necessary. All rewards are distributed via vesting contracts and lock-up periods of up to 48 months from the token-generating event.”
Besides the game economy, one of the most important things that attracts a player into a game is the graphics and sound. The Undeads team has partnered with Warner Bros and Wabi Sabi Sound for graphics and sound editing.
All of the in-game work is very important for building a player base. Players want a game where they can have fun and make money at the same time.
Priority First
The Undeads team is working on in-game technical aspects and the economy, but the most important reason for this is that the Undeads team’s priority is for players to enjoy the game. Undeads chief marketing officer Ash Hodgetts said:
“We designed dozens of reward-producing mechanics that required over 20 smart contracts to be developed to make it work. Additionally, we are paying much attention to fun-first gameplay to ensure the long-term engagement of players.”
Undeads Metaverse is based on NFTs for many of its in-game items. It is possible to progress in the game without buying NFTs, but this is a challenge. Undeads chief marketing officer Ash Hodgetts said:
“Traditional gamers can join the game and start playing without NFTs, but they will need to pay a small fee – which is still cheaper than purchasing an NFT – for creating non-NFT characters in the game. This character will have limited capabilities and no access to real earnings, so it’s just an entry point for new non-crypto players to get them engaged into both Undeads Metaverse and Web3 together.”
