Crypto News– The Miss Universe Organization has categorically disavowed any connection to the Miss Universe Coin project that was unveiled during the Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) event earlier this month. PBW, in response to this situation, has confirmed its ongoing communication with all relevant parties and promises to provide updates in due course.
Miss Universe New Coin Project
The initial announcement of the Miss Universe Coin project at PBW came with statements from Donald Lim, the founder of the PBW management organization, proclaiming that PBW would be the platform for the launch of the Miss Universe Coin. However, in the weeks following this announcement, the official body overseeing the Miss Universe pageant has emphatically refuted any association with this cryptocurrency project and has labeled it as fraudulent.
On September 22, the official Facebook page of Miss Universe made a public statement to clarify that neither the Miss Universe Organization nor JKN Global Group, the company responsible for the pageant, have any ties to the coin project introduced at the PBW event. The organization is intent on pursuing legal action in response to what they perceive as an infringement on their rights.
The statement from Miss Universe further asserts, “There is currently no Miss Universe cryptocurrency or blockchain offering, and these products are in no way involved with the voting or selection process for Miss Universe or the Miss Universe Philippines pageants.” They have gone as far as to describe the Miss Universe Coin as an outright “fraud” and have cautioned against any coverage of it at upcoming blockchain conferences in Dubai and Singapore.
