Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg Announces Horizon Worlds Early Access for Mobile and Web
In a blog post published on September 15, the 3D avatar-based social platform declared that it had begun rolling out its first Meta Horizon environment to mobile and web in an early access stage. In an effort to draw more people to its 3D virtual world, Horizon Worlds, run by Mark Zuckerberg, is expanding beyond virtual reality.
Super Rumble, a free-for-all shooter that debuted in late July and allows two to six people to team up for quick bouts lasting five minutes, is the only experience that is now accessible. In the upcoming months, new worlds and experiences will be added to the platform, according to Meta.
Early Access to be Gradually Opened to All Devices
There will be a limited number of users who can access it first on the web or through the Android Meta Quest app. However, an iOS deployment is planned for the upcoming weeks.

According to Meta, more people will be able to enjoy Worlds if it is made available on more devices. Although Meta hasn’t made available any public data on its monthly active customers, a story by The Wall Street Journal in October 2022 implied that there weren’t more than 200,000 of them. The social network for Meta is still only accessible in Canada, France, Iceland, Ireland, Spain, the UK, and the US at this time.
The metaverse should be available to everyone — no matter what device they’re on. And while Quest headsets are the most immersive way to access the metaverse, we believe there should be multiple entry points.
