Splinterlands, Is a P2E card game powered by HIVE blockchain. In the game Splinterlands, each card that players have actually had an NFT feature. Players can develop, merge, trade NFT cards and convert them into the game’s in-game cryptocurrency, the Dark Energy Crystal (DEC) token. The Splinterlands game currently has users in more than 100 countries. Splinterlands is free to play, but users must purchase the Summoner’s Spellbook starter pack to activate the P2E feature. The current value of the Summoner’s Spellbook starter pack is 10 USD. After purchasing the starter package, you activate the P2E feature. Game Content

There are 2 different card types and 100s of cards in Splitlanders. In order for us to understand the game, we will first examine the question of what are these types of cards.

Types of Cards

Summoners

The first of the card types available in the game is Summoners. Summoners use one of the six basic powers, and each player has to choose a summoner before starting battles. The Summoner can initially summon a team of up to 6 units based on the six base powers they choose. The number of units summoned to battles varies according to the level and rarity of summoner cards.

Monsters

Monsters represent units summoned by Summoner cards. Monster cards have levels and, depending on these levels, features such as attack, armour, health, and speed. Monster cards are vital in battles.

Splinters

Spliters represent 6 different basic magic powers that players choose before starting the battle. These magic powers, listed as Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death and Dragon, are used by Summoners. You need to make the choice of splinters before entering the battle, and remember that you can do it only 1 time.

Cards

There are hundreds of cards in the Splinterlands game. There are 4 different types of rarity that determine the characteristics of these cards. These rarity types are Legendary, Epic, Rare, and Common. You can also see the rarity level on each card. On the cards you can also see the mana cost, which is the price required for the player to make moves, the character’s physical strength, armor, durability and health information, rarity level, Splinter power that you selected before starting the battle, the character’s name, level, experience points and abilities. You can buy cards or sell cards you own from the Marketplace in-game. You can also submit quotes if you need a particular card and the current market price is too much for you. These offers can be made with DEC tokens or game credits. You can examine an example of a Fire Splinter monster card in the picture below.

The Battlefield

Before moving on to game modes and rewards, you need to be victorious in battles to earn these rewards. To win in battles, let’s first learn the battlefield.

Now that we have learned the battlefield and the cards, it’s time to learn the Splinterlands game modes and how we can win in these modes.

Game Modes

There are 2 different gameplay modes in Splinterlands game. After you create your card collection, you can join the excitement of war by choosing one of the Modern ranked battles or Wild ranked battles modes. Although the 2 modes are very similar in terms of gameplay, there are some differences between them. Modern ranked battle mode is generally more suitable for people with low rarity cards to play. This allows new players to have a fair gaming experience under equal conditions. Wild mode is a game mode in which the players with the highest rarity level cards and all the cards in their collection can be used.

Splinterlands Gameplay

After selecting the game mode, you will click on the join the battle option and enter the matching queue. After the pairing takes place, you will be presented with a screen where you can see the rules of the battle, restrictions and the battle history of your opponent. After reviewing these rules and your opponent’s history, by clicking on the create a team option, you are deemed to have accepted the battle and are now redirected to the create a team page.

On the team building screen, you will see summoners that you can play, Splinters that are allowed for battle, and your collection of cards with which you will create your team. First of all, you need to choose a Summoner. We talked about the monsters the Summoners will summon. After selecting the Summoner, you will see the monsters that the Summoner can summon. After determining your strategy and forming your team, you can start the battle. In the image below, you can examine an example of a team building screen with Wild mode selected.

After creating your team, you can watch the battle if you want by clicking on the go to battle option. Battles are fast-paced and usually last around 2-3 minutes. Now that we’ve learned how to start the battle, we can move on to the Splinterlands game rewards.

Rewards

There are many different ways to earn at Splinnterlands. Rewards can be listed as ranked battle rewards based on the league system, end-of-season rewards lasting 12-16 days, and daily rewards created to support game sustainability.

Ranked Battle Rewards

R-share is allocated to winners at the end of Wild or Modern ranked battle modes. R-share is added to the SPS rewards at the end of the season and distributed at the end of the season. There are 2 different SPS prize pools for 2 different game modes in the Splinterlands game. Your SPS win rate is determined by values such as League, Energy capture rate, streak, cards you choose, and guild bonuses.

Season Rewards

The seasons vary between 12-16 days. At the end of each season, players are awarded a loot chest with rare cards and DEC tokens for the best player in each league. A maximum of 150 loot chests can be obtained in a season. Your loot chest win rate will vary depending on your league at the end of the season.

Leaderboard Rewards

Leaderboard rewards are in addition to season-end chest rewards. End-of-season awards are given to the best players of each game mode. The Leaderboard prize pool is determined as 3622000 DEC. The distribution ratio of this award, which is distributed to the best players of each league every season, according to the leagues, is as follows;

  • Bronze: 122 000 DEC are awarded to the top 20 in total, of which 30000 DEC goes to the 1st place.
  • Silver: 220 000 DEC are awarded to the top 25 in total, of which 40000 DEC goes to the 1st place.
  • Gold: 420 000 DEC are awarded to the top 30 in total, of which 60000 DEC goes to the 1st place.
  • Diamond: 890 000 DEC are awarded to the top 40 in total, of which 100000 DEC goes to the 1st place.
  • Champion: 1970 000 DEC are awarded to the top 50 in total, of which 200000 DEC goes to the 1st place.

Tokenomics

The Splinterlands game has 2 different tokens. These are the DEC token, which you can use and earn in the Splinterlands game, and the SPT, which is the management token of the game.

Dark Crystal Energy(DEC)

The DEC token is the Splinterlands in-game currency. You can earn DEC tokens, daily in-game rewards, end-of-season rewards, and Leaderboard rewards. Splintershards (SPS)

The SPS token is the main management token of the gaming ecosystem. The SPS token cannot be used in the game. As a DAO, SPS token holders have the right to vote on decisions in the management process of the Splinterlands game. The more SPS tokens you have, the more voting rights you get. Summary

Spliterlands is a P2E card game with a community-managed management token and powered by the Hive blockchain. Although it is a free game to play at the beginning, you need to buy a product by paying a certain fee to activate the P2E feature of the game. Each of the cards in the game has different types, and different characteristics of the cards according to the types. Thanks to the game modes they have determined in terms of playability, it is a game suitable for every user to start. By upgrading your league in fast-paced battles, you can have rewards distributed at the end of the season. The game has 2 different tokens. You can have in-game cards with the DEC token that you will use in the game, and if you want, you can withdraw the tokens you have earned to your wallet.
