Elon Musk, the eccentric CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, recently expressed his preference for Twitter over Instagram.
Amidst the launch of Threads, Musk announces that he Prefers strangers attacking Him on twitter over Pretending to Be happy on ınstagram
In a tweet, Musk stated, “It is infinitely preferable to be attacked by strangers on Twitter, than indulge in the false happiness of hide-the-pain Instagram.” This statement came in response to the launch of Meta’s new app, Threads, which aims to rival Twitter.
Musk’s History with Instagram
Musk has a history of disdain for Instagram. In 2018, he deleted his Instagram account, referring to it as “weak sauce” in an email. His recent tweet further emphasizes his preference for the raw, unfiltered nature of Twitter over the often polished and curated content found on Instagram.
Meta’s Threads: A New Contender
Meta, formerly known as Facebook, launched its new text-based app, Threads, with the intention of competing with Twitter. The launch was successful, with over five million people signing up within the first four hours. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta, has been vocal about his ambition to outperform Twitter with Threads.
Zuckerberg’s Ambition and Musk’s Skepticism
Zuckerberg expressed his ambition for Threads, stating, “It’ll take some time, but I think there should be a public conversations app with 1 billion+ people on it. Twitter has had the opportunity to do this but hasn’t nailed it. Hopefully, we will.”
Musk, on the other hand, has shown skepticism towards Meta’s attempt to rival Twitter, even challenging Zuckerberg to a cage match to settle their differences.
The Uncertain Future of Threads
While Threads has had a successful launch, its future remains uncertain. Will it be able to compete with Twitter and attract a user base of over a billion people, as Zuckerberg hopes? Or will it fall short, as Musk seems to predict? Only time will tell.
About Threads
