Bit2Me Raises $15M to Grow in Spain and Latin America
Bit2Me, a prominent Spanish cryptocurrency exchange, has secured $15 million in a funding round spearheaded by Investcorp.
According to a press release from Bit2Me, the investment round involved participation from Telefónica Ventures, the investment division of Telefónica, Spain’s largest telecommunications company, as well as Stratminds VC, Cardano, and YGG Fund.
The raised funds will enable Bit2Me to bolster its presence in its home country of Spain and expedite its expansion efforts in Latin America. In July 2022, Bit2Me took a controlling stake in Fluyez, a peer in Peru, marking the initial phase of its pursuit of acquisition opportunities in Chile, Colombia, and Uruguay.
Additionally, Bit2Me obtained approval from the Bank of Spain in February, solidifying its position as the first service provider in Spain for virtual currency-to-fiat currency exchanges and digital wallet custody.
This funding will boost our acquisition of new customers specially thanks to Investcorp, an international partner with significant financial muscle, and to Telefónica, who will give us more channels in Latin America
