Global apparel giant Adidas has joined forces with renowned digital artist Fewocious to create a unique physical shoe offering accompanied by an NFT redemption pass. This collaboration aims to further explore the concept of “art of play” in the fashion industry.
The limited-edition NFT mint pass, named “Trefoil Flower,” is the result of the partnership between Fewocious and Adidas. Starting from June 22, interested buyers will have the opportunity to purchase this exclusive pass on the OpenSea marketplace.
The NFT mint pass serves as a voucher that can be redeemed for a pair of Adidas Originals Campus 00s, a specially designed shoe. However, shipping of the NFT will only commence in September, once the NFT has been “burned” or permanently destroyed.
Each physical sneaker will be equipped with NFC tags, allowing verification through devices like smartphones, contactless credit cards, and passports. These tags will be connected to a companion NFT, ensuring a unique digital representation for each shoe.
The release of the Trefoil Flower NFT will follow a three-stage process, beginning with a private sale and subsequently transitioning to a public mint. Early access to minting will be granted to holders of Adidas’ current Alts Decos and Soles NFTs, as well as Fewocious Paint Drops, at a reduced price of 0.2 ETH (approximately $350 at the time of writing).
Following this phase, a second mint will take place at a price of 0.25 ETH ($435) for holders of all other Adidas Alts, Fewocious NFTs, and selected NFTs from a predetermined list, including Bored Ape Yacht Club, Doodles, and Rug Radio NFTs. Finally, the sale will open to the general public at the same price.
Fewocious, whose birth name is Victor Langlois, is a 20-year-old transgender artist known for his colorful and nostalgic-themed artwork.
Since entering the NFT market three years ago, Fewocious has become a prominent innovator in the Web3 space, with lifetime sales exceeding $50 million and partnerships with notable entities such as Nike-owned RTFKT, Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and the David Bowie estate.
