Sony’s Blockchain Platform Soneium Partners with LINE to Bring Mini-Apps On-Chain

Sony’s public blockchain platform, Soneium, has joined forces with messaging giant LINE to integrate LINE’s mini-apps into its ecosystem. As part of this collaboration, the companies will begin by bringing four mini-games on-chain in the coming months.

Announced today, the partnership aims to enhance user experience while providing LINE mini-app developers with strategic support. According to the official statement, developers will benefit from Soneium’s expertise in community building, marketing, and IP collaborations, helping them grow their reach within the blockchain ecosystem.

The initial batch of four games set to launch on Soneium includes:

• Sleepagotchi LITE
• Farm Frens
• Moonveil: Puffy Match
• Pocket Mob

“LINE has established a strong presence in the digital space, and integrating its successful mini-apps into the Soneium ecosystem is a key step toward making blockchain technology more accessible,” said Jun Watanabe, Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, the subsidiary responsible for developing Soneium.

LINE, a dominant messaging platform in Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand, has been actively expanding into the Web3 space. In January 2025, it introduced a decentralized app portal and its first set of dApps, powered by Kaia, which users can access directly via the LINE mobile messenger.

Sony Block Solutions Labs, a Singapore-based subsidiary of Sony Group, launched Soneium’s Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet earlier this year, marking a significant milestone in Sony’s blockchain ambitions.

With this collaboration, LINE and Soneium aim to drive greater adoption of blockchain-powered applications, merging social engagement with decentralized technology.
