GPT-5 Confirmed: OpenAI’s GPT-5 Might Be Closer Than You Think!
CEO Sam Altman said that OpenAI’s next version of its ChatGPT AI language model may be ready in a few months. Altman stated in a revised roadmap published to X on February 12 that OpenAI’s last non-chain-of-thought model, GPT-4.5, which is internally known as Orion, will be primarily released.

Altman did not specify when GPT-4.5 or GPT-5 would be released. Additionally, he stated that GPT-5 will be accessible to even free users, subject to abuse thresholds, while premium and pro users will be able to run it more intelligently.
