Sony NFT– Sony’s public blockchain platform, Soneium, has officially launched its first collection of music NFTs, marking a significant milestone in the music industry’s evolution with blockchain technology. The debut NFT music collection includes unreleased tracks from Tokyo-based producer NUU$HI, now available for purchase on Soneium’s NFT marketplace, Sonova. Priced at just 0.000777 ETH ($2.11), the 22-minute music NFT has already seen 644 units minted as of the latest data.
The collaboration with Coop Records, a community-owned label that has already moved over 600 songs onto the blockchain, highlights the ongoing shift in how artists, labels, and streaming platforms distribute music. Coop Records aims to address the issue of unfair profit distribution, using blockchain to ensure that creators are fairly compensated for their work.
