AI-Powered Crypto Agents Gaining Interest but Remaining Speculative
According to Switzerland-based cryptocurrency bank Sygnum Bank, artificial intelligence agents with a cryptocurrency theme might be one of the new trends of this year, but they are still very speculative.
Interest in AI-related crypto projects has grown substantially with the emerging niche of crypto AI agents,
Sygnum researchers
The researchers noted that although AI agents have so far attracted a lot of interest, they have had difficulty demonstrating their value beyond conjecture. While the AI agent market is still largely speculative, they said, initiatives like Bittensor, the Artificial Superintelligence Alliance, and Phala Network are tackling the more realistic issues by trying to combine decentralized apps with AI services and their data needs.
AI Tokens Lead Crypto Rebound Despite Chinese AI Competition
Processes and decision-making are automated by agentic AI since agents can comprehend complicated objectives, carry out multi-step reasoning procedures, and operate with little assistance from humans. As the potential for AI agents to generate value is further investigated, Sygnum noted, tokens of prominent AI agent-creation protocols, including Virtuals and ai16z, may continue to gain. The market valuation of the growing AI agents niche subsector has also more than doubled to $10 billion in the last quarter, the report stated.
Even if there is increasing hope for decentralized AI, the Sygnum researchers warned that the rise of effective and affordable Chinese AI has caused a sell-off in cryptocurrency AI initiatives. The latest model from Chinese AI company DeepSeek was released in January, which shook US AI stocks and AI-focused cryptocurrency projects. However, with AI tokens leading today’s crypto market rebound, these stocks appear to be on the rise again.
