Wintermute Asia Launches CFD to Trade U.S.-Based Crypto Projects Amid Reserve Talks
Wintermute Asia, a Singaporean derivatives trading company owned by cryptocurrency market maker Wintermute, has introduced a contract for difference (CFD) based on the GMCI USA Select Index. This enables traders to promptly adjust to changing market narratives, particularly about the possible establishment of a strategic digital asset reserve. Based on their circulating supply, the index monitors the success of the leading cryptocurrency projects with a U.S.-based legal entity.
Trump Presidency Boosts Crypto Index by 160%: Wintermute Enables Easy Access
The index, which also includes ADA, AVAX, LINK, UNI, HBAR, NEAR, LTC, and APT, is heaviest weighted by the payments-focused cryptocurrencies XRP, Solana’s SOL, and memecoin DOGE. Since Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election in early November, the index has increased by more than 160%.
The index’s composition makes it a baseline for assessing investment strategies and mixes that are centered on U.S. protocols. Wintermute’s CFD makes it even simpler by enabling traders to profit from rising and falling valuations by long (buying) or short (selling) the index without actually holding the index’s members.
This is the first in a new series of narrative index baskets that allow traders to quickly trade in and out of narratives and rotate into new ones without the hassle of buying and selling all the component coins,

GMUSA Index Offers Traders Exposure to U.S.-Focused Crypto Themes
The launch of CFD coincides with continued optimism that President Trump will fulfill his pledge during the campaign to establish a national reserve of digital assets. Some, like Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, have advocated for a more diversified strategy that incorporates multiple tokens, even if the majority believe that Bitcoin would be a perfect fit for the reserve.
Discussions around a potential U.S. national digital asset stockpile have driven price movements in U.S.-focused tokens. GMUSA gives traders structured exposure to this theme with a basket of top coins rooted in the U.S., including XRP, SOL, DOGE, ADA, AVAX, LINK, SUI, XLM, HBAR, UNI, LTC, NEAR, and APT,
