Donald Trump’s $500 Billion Stargate AI Investment: Key Partners and Goals
Donald Trump recently unveiled the “Stargate” project, a $500 billion private-led initiative aimed at building artificial intelligence (AI) data centers across the United States. The ambitious plan is set to revolutionize the AI industry and create over 100,000 American jobs. Announced in a press conference on January 21, the project is backed by leading technology companies such as OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle, with additional participation from Microsoft, Nvidia, and Arm.
Key Investors and Technology Partners
The Stargate project’s initial funding will be directed by OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, alongside SoftBank and Oracle. According to SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, a significant $100 billion will be deployed immediately, with the remaining $400 billion distributed over the next four years. This strategic move aims to solidify the US’s dominance in the AI field and keep AI innovation within its borders. In addition, MGX, an AI investment firm, is involved in the initiative.
The project’s long-term goal is to establish a vast network of AI data centers across the country, with the first facilities already under construction at Oracle’s Abilene, Texas location. OpenAI’s Sam Altman noted that the company is evaluating additional sites to expand its operations.
