EigenLayer Season 2 Stakedrop Distributes EIGEN Tokens for Ecosystem Contributors
The second season of EigenLayer’s stakeholder airdrop, or “stakedrop,” has been announced. Stakers, node operators, ecosystem partners, and community members will get 86 million EIGEN tokens. The distribution is scheduled to start on or before September 17, 2024, and it is intended for participants who are active between March 15 and August 15. Starting on September 17, stakeholders can claim the tokens that belong to them.

EigenLayer Stakedrop Season 2: 86 Million Tokens Allocated Amid TVL Decline
The most recent stakedrop’s allotment of 86 million tokens corresponds to roughly 5% of the 1.67 billion token supply when fully diluted. During the second season, 70 million EIGEN tokens were allocated to active operators and stakers. The pro rata share of ETH staked by each participant determines allocation.
For AVSs, rollups, liquid staking protocols, rollup-as-a-service providers, and other EigenLayer ecosystem participants, up to 10 million EIGEN tokens are reserved. Approximately 6 million EIGEN tokens will be awarded to the community sector, which includes early advocates, contributors to open-source projects, and other supporters. Community members must use the Eigen Foundation’s verification portal by September 11 to link their wallet addresses to their social handles in order to validate their social identities and receive their tokens.
