Donald Trump has announced the release of a new set of NFT trading cards as part of his ongoing efforts to appeal to the crypto community in the lead-up to the November elections.

The Republican presidential nominee revealed the “Series 4: America First Collection” on his Truth Social platform, where he shared a promotional video calling himself the “crypto president.” This latest digital offering features 50 stylized images of Trump, each accompanied by captions like “Greatest of All Time” and “America Strong.”

Supporters of the former president can purchase these NFTs for $99 each. Those who buy 15 or more cards, totaling $1,485, will receive a physical version that includes a fragment of the suit Trump wore during his presidential debate with Joe Biden in June. Additionally, up to 25 buyers who spend $24,750 exclusively in cryptocurrency will be invited to a gala in Florida next month, where they will have the opportunity to enjoy cocktails with Trump.

This move marks a significant shift in Trump’s stance on cryptocurrency. In 2021, he dismissed Bitcoin as a “scam,” but by June 2024, his views had evolved. Speaking at a campaign rally in Racine, Wisconsin, he declared that the future of cryptocurrency would be “made in America.” Trump first entered the NFT space in December 2022, when he launched his inaugural batch of 44,000 tokens, which sold out within two days, according to data from OpenSea.

Trump’s support for cryptocurrency has continued to grow, as evidenced by his appearance at the Nashville Bitcoin 2024 conference, where he reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining America’s Bitcoin holdings as a national strategic reserve. David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine and the conference organizer, reported that by the end of July, the crypto community had donated over $25 million to Trump’s campaign.

The release of these new NFT cards follows Trump’s promotion of an “official” cryptocurrency project on Truth Social. This project, associated with a Telegram group run by his sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., was initially called “The Defiant Ones” but has since been renamed “World Liberty Financial.” The group has garnered nearly 50,000 subscribers, though details about the project’s future remain unclear.
