Cristiano Ronaldo to Launch Fourth NFT Collection with Binance on May 29
Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the launch of his fourth NFT collection in partnership with Binance. This new collection, set to debut on May 29 on the Binance NFT Marketplace, will celebrate Ronaldo’s illustrious career, showcasing highlights from his journey in football.
According to a blog post by Binance, Ronaldo shared his excitement, saying, “My football journey has taken me across the globe, playing for some of the world’s most prestigious clubs. Now, you can join me on this journey as well.”
The exact number of NFTs in this collection will be revealed upon launch, with no details on pricing yet. The blog post mentioned that all “Normal NFTs” will have a uniform price, while the “final Super Rare NFT” will have a different pricing structure.
Previous NFT events featuring Ronaldo have offered exclusive perks beyond the digital assets, such as premium experiences where holders could play football with the star as part of Binance’s promotion.
It’s worth noting that in November 2023, as reported by Cointelegraph, Ronaldo was named in a class action lawsuit filed in a U.S. district court in Florida. The plaintiffs alleged that Ronaldo “promoted, assisted in, and/or actively participated in the sale of unregistered securities in coordination with Binance,” claiming he should have known about Binance’s activities.
This lawsuit is part of broader legal issues faced by Binance, culminating in its founder, Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, being found guilty in the U.S. of enabling fraud. Zhao was sentenced in April 2024 to four months in detention for his role in an alleged money laundering scheme.
