Renowned Crypto Thief Pink Drainer Retires After $85M Heist Spree
Crypto News– In a surprising announcement on Telegram, Pink Drainer, the infamous crypto-wallet draining kit, declared its retirement after reaching its goal of facilitating the theft of over $85 million in crypto assets. Following the announcement, Pink Drainer deleted the entire Telegram chat history.
CryptoSleuth ZachXBT shared a screenshot of Pink Drainer’s final message on Telegram, confirming the shutdown of the drainware service after more than $75 million had been stolen. Additionally, PeckShieldAlert reported on the closure, noting that Pink Drainer addresses had staked up to 18.1 million $DAI into Spark, accounting for approximately 1.35% of the total $sDAI tokens.
The Pink Drainer Telegram channel has undergone a rebranding, now known as Bonadifier. The channel displays an image of Bonad, a drainer depicted with a mental disability, accompanied by the message “never forget what he took from you.”
Pink Drainer’s cybercriminal toolkit facilitated the theft of $53 million from over 9000 participants in 2023. The security researcher responsible for Pink Drainer defended the service, stating, I don’t phish, I just code.
