Kaspa Network Launches Groundbreaking Rusty Kaspa (RK) Node, Paving the Way for Network Advancements

Kaspa Network introduces the inaugural stable Rusty Kaspa (RK) node, marking a pivotal step towards an enhanced and optimized engine. Currently in its open beta phase, RK nodes comprise a quarter of the P2P network, contributing to 29% of the total hashrate.

The transition to RK is imperative for significant network advancements, including accelerating the mainnet to 10 BP, scaling to DagKnight, facilitating smart contract opcodes, and other crucial enhancements. Node managers stand to gain immediate benefits, such as near-constant storage, rapid syncing, and a robust RPC software stack.

The company advocates for a methodical approach, gradually migrating additional nodes to RK. It offers comprehensive guidance tailored to diverse use cases, catering to participants in the Rust open beta, Galang node managers, Galang archive node managers, mining pools, exchanges, wallet developers, and casual users.

The RK node features a CLI interface similar to Golang nodes, with modifications including RPC defaults to localhost, UPnP support by default, a refined configuration file format, and customizable RAM cache utilization.

A resilient software stack has been developed on the RK codebase, comprising the Kaspa Node GUI (KNG), a desktop service packed with various functionalities integrating the RK P2P node and the potential to interface with the public P2P node framework.

Furthermore, the introduction of the WebAssembly (WASM) Software Development Kit (SDK) enables Rusty Kaspa infrastructure to operate in a WASM2 environment, facilitating compatibility with JavaScript and TypeScript. This interoperability empowers the RK infrastructure to be leveraged within Web3 browsers, Node.js environments, and Chrome browser extensions.
