Arbitrum’s recent airdrop has left the crypto community excited and really hoping that others will “learn” to follow Layer 2. However, this is also an opportunity for scammers to steal user resources. There’s a good chance that Starknet will airdrop its native tokens, but now isn’t the time.

Ethereum Layer 2 network Starknet has tweeted that there are currently numerous fake private messages on Discord, Twitter and Telegram claiming that the project is releasing tokens and airdrops. It says all the accounts are fake scams. Starknet uses ZK rollup technology that allows a dApp developer to create his dApp of any size while maintaining the security inherited from Ethereum.

The contract and the Starknet operating system are developed in Cairo, a programming language that enables the deployment and scaling of dApps that are not tied to business logic. It’s no coincidence that news related to airdrops is so hot these days, airdrops from one of the major Layer 2 platforms like Starknet will be a driving force in attracting the community.

That’s why there are a lot of fake news about Starknеt airdrop. The scammers got even smarter by creating a fake Twitter page depicting the project announcing the airdrop. The LayerZero omnichain protocol is one of the victims of this scam. The fake page has over 22,000 followers. Scammers are on the rise as the crypto market recovers from the crypto winter. All bitcoin enthusiasts should exercise extreme caution: initiatives are organized solely to raise awareness. As a result, well-known and established product airdrops are almost always scams.
