Crypto News – In its official token launch statement on February 26, Dechat mistakenly linked to a PancakeSwap honeypot.
Dechat Honeypot URL Failure: Wrong Link Usage Causes Massive Response
A malevolent smart contract with concealed traps that seeks to entice user investments before taking the funds is known as a “honeypot” cryptocurrency. On-chain researcher ZachXBT, who goes by pseudonym, posted on X on February 26.
Users Claim to Have Lost Funds
Dechat removed the original post and issued a new announcement with an updated PancakeSwap link after ZachXBT made his reveal. On February 26, trading for DECHAT, the new utility token for the system, began. The following exchanges have listed the coin: KuCoin, Bybit, Gate.io, HTX, MEXC, and PancakeSwap.
The mistake sparked a strong backlash from the community. A user going by the handle Varun4243 on X claimed to have lost money as a result of Dechat‘s incorrect honeypot URL.
You guys posted the wrong contract address and link for Pancakeswap!! I lost money because of that!! Will you compensate me for that?
