Crypto News – The Montenegrin police declared this morning that Han Chang-joon, the former financial officer of Terraform Labs, has been extradited to South Korea.

According to a formal declaration from the nation’s police, the Ministry of Justice made the decision to extradite Han. After a six-month international manhunt, he and the company’s co-founder, Do Kwon, were apprehended at the Podgorica airport in March 2023 while attempting to flee on a private jet.
Han has been turned over to South Korean authorities, according to the Montenegrin police, so they can begin criminal proceedings for several offenses relating to fraud in financial investment services, investments, and the capital market. These offenses carry a life sentence in prison.

Still No Progress on Kwon’s Extradition
Kwon’s extradition has been sought by US and South Korean prosecutors in connection with the $60 billion crash of the algorithmic stablecoin Terra in 2022. Han was found guilty of attempting to travel using falsified documents and was sentenced to four months in prison in Montenegro. According to the latest developments, it was decided to extradite Han after completing the four-month period.
