2025 January Solana Airdrop Highlights: SONIC and Jupiter Airdrops Coming
At least two significant airdrops are scheduled for January, with hundreds of millions of tokens being distributed to qualified users in the Solana ecosystem. SONIC and Jupiter are the airdrops that are particularly noteworthy in this context and will be covered in this article.
Sonic and Jupiter Airdrops Lead Solana’s 2025 Token Distribution Wave
On January 7, the Solana layer-2 gaming network Sonic will airdrop 7% of its native SONIC token supply to users, marking the first airdrop of the year. Just 15% of the 2.4 billion SONIC tokens in total supply would be available for trading on the day of the airdrop, according to a post made by Sonic on X on January 1.
Second, sometime in January, Jupiter, a decentralized exchange aggregator on Solana, will airdrop roughly $625 million worth of its native JUP (JUP) tokens to qualified customers. Jupiter Uplink said that 700 million JUP tokens, or $625 million at today’s rates, would be airdropped to users in a post on X on December 27. Jupiter revealed that the JUPuary airdrop would be open to about 2.3 million wallet addresses, with users earning more JUP through several qualifying activities.
