According to a Cointelegraph analysis of data from two well-known prediction markets, bettors are placing bets that 2025 will be a historic year for cryptocurrency markets. In 2025, traders on Kalshi and Polymarket predict that Bitcoin and Ether will reach all-time highs. Additionally, they expect the US to create a strategic Bitcoin reserve and approve several new crypto ETFs.

Kalshi estimates that there is a greater than 60% chance that Bitcoin and Ethereum will reach at least $125,000 and $5,000 in 2025, respectively, as of December 26. 50% of Bitcoin reaching $120,000 before the end of March is predicted by Polymarket. The current record highs for Bitcoin and Ethereum are approximately $108,300 and $4,720, respectively.

Furthermore, according to Kalshi users, there is a 59% likelihood that Donald Trump, the US president-elect, will establish a strategic national Bitcoin reserve while in office. Trump’s chances of doing so in his first 100 days in office are merely 29%, according to Polymarket. With over $4 billion in trading activity linked to the US presidential election alone, Polymarket and Kalshi gained notoriety in the lead-up to the November US elections.

On the other hand, conventional futures markets predict moderate gains for cryptocurrencies in the first quarter of 2025, in contrast to betting platforms. March spot values for Bitcoin and Ethereum are approximately $98,000 and $3,500, respectively, according to traders on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), one of the biggest futures markets in the United States. Even yet, that is a significant increase over the spot prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum on December 26 of about $96,000 and $3,350, respectively. On December 26, both cryptocurrencies had a 4% decline as of late morning Eastern Time.
