Michael Saylor: ‘Nothing Stops This Orange’ After $26M BTC Buy
Michael Saylor – Bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor has once again expanded his company’s digital asset holdings. The executive chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) announced on June 22 that the firm purchased an additional 245 BTC for approximately $26 million, paying an average price of $105,856 per Bitcoin.
This latest purchase brings Strategy’s total BTC holdings to a staggering 592,345 BTC, acquired at an aggregate cost of $41.87 billion. As of writing, the stash is valued at $59.96 billion, marking an impressive year-to-date Bitcoin yield of 19.2%.
Saylor hinted at the move with his trademark phrase, “Nothing Stops This Orange,” sharing an infographic displaying each purchase as an orange dot—a nod to Bitcoin’s signature color.
BTC Price Falls Below $100K After Acquisition
Interestingly, the acquisition came just before Bitcoin dipped below the $100,000 level, suggesting the buy-in occurred at a local top. Still, Saylor remains committed to his long-term Bitcoin strategy, regularly doubling down regardless of short-term volatility.
Metaplanet Outpaces Strategy with 1,111 BTC Purchase
In a parallel announcement, Japanese firm Metaplanet disclosed its own sizable BTC acquisition—1,111 Bitcoins purchased for approximately $118.2 million, at an average price of $106,408 per BTC.
The company now holds 11,111 BTC, valued at over $1.12 billion, and has achieved an extraordinary year-to-date yield of 306.7%.
CEO Simon Gerovich recently unveiled a bold long-term vision: to scale Metaplanet’s BTC holdings to 210,000 BTC by 2027, aligning symbolically with Bitcoin’s maximum supply cap of 21 million coins. Their roadmap targets 30,000 BTC in 2025 and 100,000 BTC by 2026.
