This NFT drop commemorates Oracle Red Bull Racing’s extraordinary year, marked by a series of unprecedented accomplishments. The team not only clinched a new record for the highest number of championship points in a single season but also dominated in leading laps, achieving the Team’s inaugural one-two individual driver finish. Driver Max Verstappen further etched his name in history by securing the highest points tally ever in a single Formula 1 season.
Max Verstappen’s remarkable achievement amassed a staggering 575 points, more than doubling the tally of his teammate Sergio Perez, who concluded the season with 285 points.
Expressing the team’s excitement, Dan Mitchell, Senior Marketing Manager of Oracle Red Bull Racing, stated, “After such an incredible and record-breaking season, we are thrilled to collaborate closely with our partners Sui and Bybit to offer fans a unique part of the Team’s history with our celebratory digital memorabilia. This collaboration elevates fan engagement by providing them access to digital collectibles and virtual experiences in novel and innovative ways.”
The NFT collection will showcase distinctive artwork crafted by Automobilist, an award-winning design studio renowned for its artistic designs centered around various aspects of motorsport.
The Red Bull NFTs will be minted on Sui, the blockchain developed by Mysten Labs. This collaboration expands on the partnership established earlier in the year between the Formula 1 racing team and Mysten Labs.
Evan Cheng, Co-Founder and CEO of Mysten Labs, underscored the impact of web3 on fan engagement, stating, “The growth of web3 has changed how teams like Oracle Red Bull Racing connect with their fans. By minting these commemorative collectibles through zkLogin, fans not only feel like they own a piece of the team’s historic season, but Oracle Red Bull Racing can also directly reward their loyal fans without the need for a crypto wallet or third-party fund loading.”
