Now, users of the MetaMask Extension can access decentralized apps within the Solana ecosystem and trade, swap, or bridge Solana-based tokens. Additionally, the wallet service provider said that within a few weeks, Solana will be integrated into its mobile app.

The wallet provider has been talking about releasing its cryptocurrency coin since 2021. The wallet’s token may push the platform even closer to decentralization, according to Joseph Lubin, CEO of Consensys, the parent firm of MetaMask, who stated this in 2022.

This month, Dan Finlay, a co-founder of MetaMask, stated on The Block’s Crypto Beat podcast that the company’s own coin might yet be released. He also admitted that a greater range of token launches are now safer in the United States due to the country’s new crypto regulations.
